Tonci Bakovic

Mr. Bakovic has 35-years of experience in equity and debt investments in the power sector. Before joining IFC, he was the Manager for Business Development for Dominion Energy where he led the development of the first private portfolio of purely hydroelectric plants in South America that was later successfully sold to Duke Energy. Before Dominion Energy, he was at the Ernst & Young Energy Group in Washington DC. Mr. Bakovic’s recent area of work has been designing and investing in large scale renewable power auctions in Argentina (RENOVAR) and Mexico and promoting utility-scale battery projects and green hydrogen pilots in Eastern Europe, Latin America, Philippines, and India. Mr. Bakovic participated in the financing of over 30 distribution companies and over 10,000 MW of merchant power around the world. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (OR), and MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland and University of Michigan.
