Derek Walker is Director of Sales for LATAM at Ampt and specializes in hybrid utility-scale solar and energy storage systems. Derek has spent his career across various segments of the renewable energy industry, including energy storage integration, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), development, and equipment manufacturing. His experience spans supporting the technical and commercial efforts of many of the industry’s largest and most notable DC-coupled solar-plus-storage projects in North and South America. Among these projects, many of the key challenges that Derek and Ampt have addressed include overcoming grid congestion, avoiding curtailment, reducing CapEx, and improving system performance.
