Marcelo Lando

Vice President, Strategic Growth Fluence Energy

Marcelo began his career in energy working for AES in the development of gas-powered plants in the US. In 2011, he joined AES Solar, a joint venture between AES and private equity group Riverstone. The company, later rebranded as Silver Ridge Power, was one of the first global solar power generators and in four years became one of the leading solar players. During his time with Silver Ridge Power, he was based in Washington DC, London, and finally Madrid. Marcelo was part of the deal team in all major transactions, including a proposed IPO in the Toronto Stock Exchange that was later replaced by a sale of a material stake in Silver Ridge Power to a strategic investor.

Marcelo later moved to Latin America, where he co-founded and was CEO of Eternum Energy, a utility-scale solar developer. He later closed a joint venture between Eternum and Ledesma, a publicly-listed conglomerate, and became CEO of Ledesma Renovables, focusing on developing utility-scale solar projects. He successfully developed greenfield solar projects and completed the sale of several of these projects to international power producers.

Marcelo then returned to the US and joined Cypress Creek Renewables, where he led the development and construction of utility-scale solar projects in the PJM market in the US. At Cypress Creek, he was also a member of a three-person Technology & Innovation Council focused on advancing new technologies, including energy storage.

More recently, Marcelo joined Fluence as the Vice President of Strategic Growth for the Americas, where he focuses on existing and new markets in the Americas region.
